COERR Organized Organic Agriculture, Food Processing and Preservation and Liquid Soap Making

   During November-December 2020, COERR organized training as preparation for sustainable repatriation in Organic Agriculture, Food Processing and Preservations such as making sweetened pork sausages, slightly fermented mushroom, salted eggs using raw materials available in the community. Moreover, liquid soap making was demonstrated and distributed to community household for better hygiene during Covid 19 pandemic.

   COERR Kanchanaburi organized these trainings in Ban Don Yang Temporary Shelter, Sangkhlaburi District, Kanchanaburi Province, on November 12, 13 and 20, 2020, in which there were 40 displaced persons consisting of 26 female and 24 male, attending; andin Ban Tham Hin Temporary Shelter, Suan Phueng District, Ratchaburi Province, on November 16-17, in which 75 displaced persons of 64 female and 11 male attending.

   COERR Mae Sarieng organized the same trainingห on November 10, December 14 and 15, 2020, in Ban Mae Lama Luang Temporary Shelter, in which 45 displaced persons of 32 female and 13 male attending; and in Ban Mae La Oon Temporary Shelter in Mae Hong Son’s Sob Moei District, in which 65 persons of 38 female and 27 male attending.

   During December 14-15, 2020, trainings in liquid soap making were made in theory through power point presentation to help them understand the whole process. Then they all started to practice and finish the production, packaging and counting prior to distribution to the poor community members.

   In Ban Mae Lama Luang, they could produce 3,782 bottlles of liquid soap which were distributed to 1,672 needy household. In Ban Mae La Oon, 3,650 bottles were produced, each of 1,440 needy household received 2 bottles. The rest were given to schools, institutions or groups and projects’ staff for better hygiene during this critical time.

   Organic Agriculture Training in Ban Don Yang and Ban Tham Hin Temporary Shelters provided by COERR Kanchanaburi, consisting of the following contents: principles of organic farming, planting in available pots or containers, soil improvement, making bio-fermented liquid, organic pest control, etc.
